Leighton red ochre - half pan
Leighton red ochre - half pan
PR102 | Excellent Lightfastnes | Semi Transparent
The Leighton red ochre is a natural red earth from the northwest of England. This particular English red is gathered in limited quantities from the lands around Yealand and Warton, an area that once belonged to the Washington family.
These hard, encrusted and compacted pieces are pulverised, washed and sieved to create a fine pigment powder in artisan batches.
Made by hand in Assisi, our watercolors are crafted according to a traditional recipe of raw pigments, gum arabic, local honey, rosemary essential oil and a wetting agent. This artisanal process creates a very pigmented and luminous paint that activates beautifully when wet.
Mix and match to create a personal collection. Select 12 colors of your choice and receive them inside one of our metal tins with a size 6 pocket brush and gift packaging at no additional cost.
Each half-pan is packaged in a small bag with original marbled paper by Florentine artisan workshop Giulio Giannini e Figlio.
